In case the word is unfamiliar to some of you, here's a definition from 2. division into two mutually exclusive, opposed, or contradictory groups: a dichotomy between thought and action.

So I was listening to Talk Radio today, something I rarely do but due to a filtering problem with my speakers, something I'm currently stuck with. The new surround sound speakers on my computer keep picking up KTOK.

At any rate, all the radio finanical jocks are weighing in on the big federal bank bailout. I'm listening, learning some things, and becoming convinced that we're in for a rough ride. Thankfully all our cars are paid for and I only owe three years on my house.

In the past friends have made fun of me for being so frugal. I've never had anything given to me, so I've learned to appreciate what I have and to live within my means.

During a good year, I put money in the bank, I don't up my lifestyle. Books, movies = I'm a happy guy. And I spoil my kids with small things like video games instead of cars.

Anyway, I'm listening to these programs and I realize that most of the commercial time supporting these shows is coming from people who want to help people reduce their credit card debt. We're in trouble now because people haven't been paying bills. Seems really strange that the shows pointing fingers at people not paying their bills and trying to live beyond their means is supported by businesses wanting to help people not pay their bills.

Maybe it's just me, but that seems to be irony at its finest.
